Monday Dispatch - Volume #199

Start your week off right:

  1. You make green sauce with almost any combination of herbs, fat, acid, and salt. I love the green brightness that these can bring to any dish.

  2. If you are into old arcade games, here is more than 1100 emulators that you can play on your computer.

  3. Ed Fairburn paints portraits on maps and the resulting images are brilliant. The lines on the map enhance in the image in a way that is hard to put in words.

  4. The piles of trash appearing during spring cleaning season in Novia Scotia caught Corey Isenor’s eye. I love the stories these piles are telling.

  5. This cafe in Seoul, Korea is designed to look like a 2-D cartoon. It would be crazy to visit this in person.

  6. “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” – Calvin Coolidge

  7. Benjamin Heath spent some time with a rancher in Montana as they wrangle a herd of horses. The landscape is stunning.

  8. Håkan Strand loves empty desolate roads in the middle of nowhere. The black and white film only heightens the moody feel of each image.

  9. Before seeing this video, I couldnt picture a single image from Albert Watson even though I discovered being rather familiar with his work. I particularly love the portrait of Hitchcock holding the goose.
