The chrysanthemums are back at Longwood Gardens. The intricate patterns created by their pedals fascinates me. Each pedal marshaled together to form a giant flower. No blossom is exactly the same. The patterns change as the bud slowly opens revealing its full form.
I captured this series by attempting to pushing Tri-X 400 to an ISO of 3200 for the first time. It was only after pulling the film out of the developing tanks did I know I had succeeded. The film grain amplifies the pattern's organic nature in a beautiful way. I am planning on returning to create a larger series out of these. Enjoy
